Surprise End-of-Year Orders are Awesome!

One year I was really sweating a big order. They kept saying it was coming, but then…crickets. If that order didn’t come, I wouldn’t make quota.

That order never came.

But you know what? A different, big order came that I totally wasn’t expecting! I was bored one day, fretting about my order, so I decided on a whim to check in with as many customers as I could. One of the customers I called said, “Actually, we have some leftover funds we do have to spend. Why don’t you get me an updated quote and we can try to push our order through this year instead of next year.”

I dropped everything I was doing, and that order came in a week later. You just never know. Now that it’s early December, make it a point to check in with as many customers as possible. You just never know when they might have some extra funding.
