LinkedIn Strategies 101

Sales friends: If you have less than 500 LinkedIn connections, you're either:

πŸ‘‰ Fairly young and new in your career OR
πŸ‘‰ Not reaching out enough to your customers for connections

You might think it's not important because your customers aren't on LinkedIn much. You might have the impression that they're too busy, or they don't really care about it.

You're wrong.

Sure, some customers probably never get on LinkedIn, but the research shows that most customers are on LinkedIn more than we think.

They might not be commenting, liking and interacting much, but they're there.

This means that if you're connected to them, they will see what you're posting.

The question is: When is it okay to reach out to a customer?

❌. Never if it's the first time you're reaching out. DON'T do it as your "cold call".
❌ Not if you've tried and tried to reach them, and they're avoiding you.

βœ… Do reach out if you got an email back from them. Even if it just said they're busy and to try back down the road.
βœ…. After a meeting or call is ideal.

The best strategy on LinkedIn is to get as many customer connections as you can, but to NOT come across as spammy.

It's a fine line, but it can be done.
