Good vs GREAT Managers

Here's a little secret that separates the good managers from the GREAT ones.

Great managers aren't afraid to hire young, inexperienced talent. They understand that you can teach anyone the industry and the products, but you can't teach grit and drive.

Last week I trained the new Canon Medical Systems USA, Inc. team on how to sell, and it was such a joy to work with young, fresh faces who were excited to soak up everything.

We spent months gathering applications, and then interviewing the talent, and after careful consideration, we chose three very talented young people.

None of them have any experience in the medical device industry, but I have NO doubt they will succeed after they complete a carefully constructed training program.

Why?

Because they want to. They REALLY want to. And we can teach them the rest.

Have you ever seen young, inexperienced sales reps become a huge success?
