Send the Outlook Invite Already!

I had a GREAT meeting one time with a nurse manager and she was excited to do a trial of our device. I emailed her and asked her when would be a good time for me to come in and I waited for a response. And then I waited and waited some more.

I couldn't understand it. She wasn't just agreeable to a trial. She seemed excited about it. Why wasn't she writing back?

That was when I stumbled upon one of my most important sales tools: The Outlook invite.

I took a chance and sent her an invite. She responded almost immediately, apologizing for taking so long, but proposed a new time and BAM. Suddenly communication was restored. The reason it worked is that I reminded her of our discussion. She was a really, really busy lady.

All these years later I still rely on this tool often. Even though I teach sales now, I still have to get new customers, and I still run across times when I'm not hearing back from people. It still amazes me how well it works to send an invite. It makes it so easy for them to accept or propose a new time that works better.

Give it a try and let me know if it works for you.
