“Stop Interrupting Me!”

Some of the best salespeople I have known are shy and soft-spoken. This used to really puzzle me because usually when you think of a salesperson you think of someone charming, smooth, and charismatic.

And then it finally hit me. The reason these "reserved" types are so successful is because they don't interrupt customers. Really, is there much that's more annoying than being interrupted?

It is tempting though. The customer starts telling you about some kind of problem they're having and you've heard it before. It's a pretty common issue and you have cracked the code. You have solved it for customers before and you're super excited to share how your product truly can fix their issue. I have seen it (and done it) many times.

But it's crucial to resist the urge to interrupt, no matter how tempting it can be. Trust me, I'm prone to interrupting too. It's a constant struggle, but it's worth the effort.

Don't you think? Let me know in the comments!
