Send Your Customer a Letter (In the Mail)

When I first started podcasting, I asked customers to be on my show and share their insights. I had a fantastic conversation with an old Biomed buddy of mine, and after the show, I sent him a thank you note. In the mail. With a stamp and everything.

When I was his sales rep, I did this a lot. First, I had sent brochures in the mail and then after the sale, I sent a thank-you note. It really set me apart from other competitors who would only email.

After he got my note, he called and left me a voicemail. He laughed and said, "I got your note. You're still the best. I don't think I've gotten a hand-written note since you left. Thanks for the fun interview."

Anything you can do to stand out is GOOD. Anything you can do to show appreciation and build trust is GOOD.

Give it a try. Go buy a book of stamps and see what customers think.

Have you ever tried it? Tell me about it!
