Secrets to Effective Cold Emails
Cold emails CAN be effective. But, the question is, should you start a new chain or keep the same thread going?
I've been doing research over the past few months on cold emails, and I have noticed that often, people tend to keep the same email chain going, and write things at the top like:
“Did you get my email below?”
“Following up on the last email I sent”
"Katie, have you missed my emails?"
There's one common mistake in all these emails. Do you notice how it points the finger at ME, the prospect?
They're almost shaming me for not responding back to them yet.
That's no way to start a trusting partnership.
Here's a better way:
👉 Keep the same chain for only TWO emails, then start something new.
👉 NEVER shame the customer in any way. Even if you keep the same chain going, don't refer to the original email.
👉 Vary your approach. You can't JUST send emails over and over. This is shown to be much, much less effective than a multi-point strategy. You've got to also call, send video messages, reach out on LinkedIn, etc as well as sending emails.
