4 Reasons Why Grammar is Key in Sales & Business
Parenting teenagers is hard. There are tons of things I want to teach my kids, but at the top of the list is to STOP writing texts to me that start with: "Me and Gabe..."
I then tell my son, it should be: "Gabe and I..."
And then he rolls his eyes. One day it'll sink in. I swear it will.
The truth is, grammar errors are super common in the business world too. Here are the most common ones:
👉Your vs You’re
✅Your would be something you own…your words, your solutions
✅You’re would mean “You are”. You’re welcome.
👉There vs. they’re vs. their
✅They’re is used for THEY ARE. They’re very old.
✅There is used for “There are several old devices.”
✅Their is used to show ownership. “Their old device needs to be replaced.”
👉Me and Gabe will be coming to the meeting. “Gabe and I...”
👉Her and I will come take a look. “She and I...”
Business writing is part of what I teach, and I know that often people are secretly groaning and rolling their eyes when I start teaching this, but the truth is, research doesn't lie.
Basic grammar mistakes are super common, and are known to make people click away.
