Cold Calling Done Right
When you call someone on the phone ☎️ for the first time, here's what you should NOT do:
👉 Give up after a couple tries (70% give up after ONE email, according to research)
👉 Go in without a plan
👉 Use phone only OR use email only
Studies show it takes 8-10 tries to reach a customer. It takes a multi-point strategy of phone, email, LinkedIn, etc.
The good news is that research shows that nearly 67% of C-Suite buyers VALUE the information they gather on calls with reps, even when it's a cold-call that they didn't ask for in the first place.
So, make those calls! 📞
And send those emails! 📧
Be strategic about how many days you wait in between reach-outs.
It matters.
I've used this same strategy in multiple industries, and it dramatically increases the likelihood of success. COVID has changed things a little, and we need to be careful not to call the same person too much if they're working from home, but if they're back in the office, and are in and out, it might take several tries before you catch them.
Just don't forget, breaking into competitive accounts can be a LONG game.
I've had it take 2+ years, but if you're polite, and persistent, it WILL pay off.
