The Secret to an AMAZING Presentation!

A few months ago, I had a post go viral (over 5,000,000 views). The subject of the post was why you shouldn’t start a presentation with your company history because the customer doesn’t care.

Since then, I’ve been asked, “Okay Katie, but how SHOULD we start a presentation, if not with company info slides?”

The answer? A story.

Here’s why:

👉 Stories help our brains make sense of the world. 
👉 Stories make things easier to remember. It’s more effective to teach with a story than with a presentation of data.
👉 Storytelling evokes a strong neurological response.

Stories allow us to focus because of the cortisol that is produced during the tense
moments in the story. 

Plus, the happy ending sends us dopamine, making us feel more optimistic, and giving us emotional involvement.
